Financial donations go a long way, but it takes more than money to care for these brave women. Donating your time and getting involved with our organization really helps us save lives.
According to medical studies from the University of Iowa, more than 18,000 Iowans are newly diagnosed with cancer each year. It is Strands of Strength’s mission to provide quality new wigs to these cancer patients to help cover the significant hair loss that can accompany treatment. By raising the funds to buy wigs and by working with medical facilities to screen recipients, Strands of Strength is – quite literally – saving people’s lives.
Oncology Professionals
As oncology doctors, nurses and caregivers, you are critical in empowering Strands of Strength to help others. We rely on you and your expertise to identify those who can benefit from our services.
Partner Salons
As an Iowa salon owner or stylist, you can help cancer patients cover the signs of treatment by styling their wigs or collecting patron contributions in support of the Strands of Strength mission.
Fundraising Events
A decade in and still growing with our eastern Iowa chapter, we now hold two annual fundraising events that help extend our efforts to help more women throughout the state of Iowa.
