WHO WE ARE
Established in 2011 by a cancer survivor, Strands of Strength is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide new wigs free of charge to cancer patients in financial need who are suffering hair loss due to treatment.
OUR MISSION
The wigs offered by Strands of Strength disguise hair loss, reduce feelings of vulnerability and provide greater self-esteem, with the hope of giving patients some added strength to successfully battle the disease.
We strive to make the ride through cancer treatment a little less rocky. Strands of Strength exists to provide quality new wigs to cancer patients in need so they can cover the significant hair loss that can accompany treatment. These wigs help patients look better, feel better and rejoin the community during treatment. It’s a simple solution that instills patients with the optimism and self-esteem to raise their chance of victory over the disease.
We all know how we feel when we walk into the world with a new haircut. It’s like having a new outlook on life. We’re giving that feeling – the feeling of hope and confidence – back to these cancer patients.
